To provide you with peace of mind, we offer the following Health Guarantee for all our kittens (Devon Rex, Maine Coon, and Sphynx).
1. Initial Health Inspection
Every kitten leaves the Republic with a clean bill of health. This includes:
- A comprehensive examination by a licensed veterinarian.
- A certified Health Certificate.
- Up-to-date vaccinations and deworming appropriate for their age.
2. 72-Hour General Health Guarantee
We guarantee that your kitten is free of infectious diseases at the time of arrival. We require the buyer to have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of receiving them. If the veterinarian finds the kitten to be ill with a life-threatening disease, Cat Republic must be notified immediately with a written report from the vet for a resolution.
3. Genetic & Hereditary Protection
We provide a one-year guarantee against life-threatening congenital or hereditary defects. This includes conditions that would significantly shorten the kitten’s life or impair its quality of life. If such a condition is diagnosed by a specialist and confirmed by our veterinarian, we will provide a replacement kitten of equal value as soon as one becomes available.
4. Breed-Specific Considerations
We understand the unique needs of our breeds:
- Sphynx: We guarantee kittens are HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) scanned parents.
- Maine Coon: Protection against known hereditary heart and hip issues common to the breed.
- Devon Rex: Guarantee against hereditary spasticity and known breed-specific defects.
5. Buyer Responsibilities
To keep this guarantee valid, the buyer must:
- Provide the kitten with a safe, indoor-only environment.
- Maintain regular veterinary check-ups and required booster shots.
- Provide high-quality nutrition as recommended by Cat Republic.
